I'm Kiarna, a macrame artist based in Walsall and the owner of House Of Macrame.
I first started my macrame journey when I was pregnant with my second child. I wanted to gain a new skill but one that a little different to the norm.
After experimenting with other crafts and finding I was just not that good at them, I came across this fantastic knotting technique that had recently made a comeback from the 1970's. After my first wall hanging, I literally became hooked and the rest is history.
I now create an array of items which are based on this ancient old knotting technique including, bespoke macrame backdrops for both wedding suppliers and couples, bridal accessories and wearable macrame clothing.
Macrame requires a lot of heart and patience, which I'm very proud to possess. I am always trying to evolve as a macrame artist and that's simply because macrame is one of the most versatile crafts out there.
As well as being a designer, I also teach macrame workshops in and around the Birmingham area. I have a passion for teaching others this beautiful skill and find it very fulfilling.
