Did you know that macrame is not only an art form but is also well respected as a art therapy. If you suffer from either anxiety or depression, macrame knotting is a great way to clear the mind, relax and let go of any fears or stresses you might be holding on to. Not only can macrame serve as an art therapy, It can also help improve your coordination skills.
I host workshops in and around the Birmingham area, at various venues but due to a peak in room hire charges, I hold them a couple of times a year. However, I mainly run private one-to-one workshops on a weekend from my home in Walsall.
My macrame workshops run for 3 hours and in that time you will be taught the basic knotting techniques needed to create a macramé project. There will be lots of demonstrations and plenty of practice! Though not every picks the knots up so quickly, no one is left behind and you will leave my workshop feeling confident enough to create your own piece.
For group bookings, I like to keep my classes small ( up to 9 people) to ensure that you get the maximum amount of support throughout the session.
I provide all materials and light refreshments for my workshops.
